How to use the Email Alerts effectively to stay informed about vulnerabilities relevant to your organisation

The Email Alerts in Recon helps you stay informed about vulnerabilities relevant to your organisation. This guide will help you set up and manage your alerts, so you can receive timely updates.

 

Setting up alerts

Add your keywords

  1. Enter a keyword in the textbox you want to get alerted on, e.g. Google Chrome, Outlook, Windows Server 2016
  2. Repeat the process for all your keywords
  3. To save your changes, click outside the box

 

Select alert categories

  1. Open the dropdown menu to view available alert categories
  2. Select at least one category to start receiving alerts: Trending News & Social, Cytidel Spotlight, CISA KEV, Potential Public Exploits
  3. To enable all categories at once, toggle the ‘Enable all categories’ option
  4. Turn on email notifications

 

Receiving & managing recent alerts

 

Once you’ve set up your keywords and selected alert categories, Cytidel will:

  • send email notifications about new CVEs or updates to existing CVEs matching your settings (max. 4 a day)
  • keep track of alerts in the Recent Alerts table for easy review

 

 

 

Remove keywords

  1. Click on the Edit icon in the Selected Keywords field
  2. Remove any or all of your keywords
  3. To save your changes, click outside the box
